College of the Canyons student, Jammal Yarbrough, has been chosen to be part of the TE Connecti
vity African Heritage Scholarship. Yarbrough, our Astronomy & Physics Club’s Electrical Lead, will take part in a paid internship as an IS/AD&M Industrial Engineer Intern.
Out of 44 candidates from across the United States,Yarbrough has been selected to participate in a “2-year scholarship program to assist college students who will be sophomores for the 2021-202
2 academic year and are majoring in STEM, Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or Information Technology.” TE Connectivity is a world leader in connectivity and sensors, focusing on inclusivity and diversifying their workforce.
This program will provide it’s interns with career development for two summers.
The Electrical lead owes this academic achievement to sleepless nights geared towards “completing assignments and responsibilities.” Yarbrough is grateful for his well-rounded group of friends and motivated peers, who support his goals and dreams. The Industrial Engineer Inte
rn has been selected based on his strong academic performance and prospective potential.
Yarbrough openly says this club has saved his life by accepting him along with his inexperience. Yarbrough mentions how “this club saw me for who I am, but more significantly, for who I can be, her
e and in the world.” He said this club will “forever be a part of my heart and most significant in the belief that I can be an engineer for companies as superb as National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
